Lake Gogebic is the Upper Peninsula of Michigan's largest inland lake located in the far western end of the Upper Peninsula. Lake Gogebic is a four-season vacation gem - still undiscovered by many. Lake Gogebic itself is in two counties and in two time zones. The north half of Lake Gogebic is in Ontonagon County, Bergland Township, and the Eastern Time zone. The south half of the lake is in Gogebic County, Marenisco Township, and the Central Time zone.
This region is also a prime hunting hot spot for deer, bear, small game and birds. The autumn colors are spectacular. Waterfalls abound and many are very easily accessed. Honeymooners will enjoy searching out the more remote falls. Lake Superior's shores are close by too. Families will enjoy Lake Gogebic's summer water sports, camping, sightseeing and hiking the surrounding timberland. The area is full of historic sites and history. The wildflowers and wildlife are everywhere. Biking, ATVs and walking are a way of life.
The evenings are often full of Northern Lights and a wolf's cry. The dress is casual and the attitudes are friendly. Bring sweaters for summer evenings and expect beautiful warm days. Winters are harsh and fall is cool, but the seasons are amazing. Home Page | Lodging | Rates | Find Us | Contact Us | Links | Photos Black Bear Cottage on
